Dagnabbit, This is a Nice Place

The Fam has been heading over here on days That The Man Lets Me Be and we've all had a real, heckuva good time.

Swings. Sprinklers. Refreshments. Nice Ladies with Good Kids.

Though, the walk over got me to thinking that a few stop signs on Skillman Ave. would stop a lot of speeding and a lot of through traffic spillage from The Boulevard Del Muerto.

Which would be a good idea on 48th Ave. too, damn it!

It might stop women with strollers getting hit by the park, it might discourage the kidnappers who try to abduct teenage girls at gunpoint. Then again, maybe we just need more cops.

There's a group of us working to make Skillman Avenue safer. We've already gotten the signals retimed so that anyone going faster than 22 miles an hour hits a red light. Now we're working on getting sidewalk extensions to make it safer to cross the street, and removing parking near a few intersections to improve visibility.

You can find out more about safety on Skillman on our website, saferskillman.org, and sign up for updates about our safety projects.

Trying to cross 39th Ave from 49th St. is scary. A traffic sign would be nice in that location too please.

Is this park open to all? When my daughters were small(20 years ago) I took them here and they were having a great time. However we were told if we were not members we had to leave.
